At The Episcopal Church in Marlboro, we believe that each of us reflects the image of God, that God loves every one of us unconditionally, and that God wants each of us to be all that it’s possible for us to be. We are God’s home, God’s hands, and God’s heart in this world.
• We believe we have found an approach to God through the life and teachings of Jesus.
• We respect the faithfulness of other people who have other names for the way to God’s realm and acknowledge that their ways are true for them.
• We understand that the sharing of bread and wine in Jesus name is a meaningful way to experience the holy presence of God.
• We invite all people to participate in our community and worship life without insisting that they become like us.
• We know that the way we behave toward one another and toward other people is the fullest expression of what we believe.
• We find more grace in the search for understanding than we do in dogmatic certainty, more value in questioning than in absolutes.
• We strive for peace and justice among all people.
• We recognize that being followers of Jesus is costly and entails selfless love, conscientious resistance to evil, and renunciation of privilege.
Christ Church is affiliated with the Episcopal Diocese of New York and linked to the Cathedral of St. John the Divine in New York City. The Rt. Rev. Mark Sisk is our bishop. The Rev. Jerry Brooks is vicar, 845-834-3474. The church office phone is 845-231-3412. Send eMail to church@episcopalmarlboro.org.

"Deep down inside, we know that death is not the end." All Saints Day, November 1, 2009

"For we, too, one day must die.
(Some of us sooner than others.)
It’s a fact of life. But we have already seen a light, a light at the end of a tunnel. We have already felt a warmth, felt a warmth that we are drawn to. We do not need to fear death. As a people of faith, what we do know, deep down inside, is that death is not the end. This is what

A visit from a missionary to our Carpenter's Kids October 25th

Robin Newman, a part-time missionary from the Diocese of New York to churches in the Anglican Diocese of Central Tanganyika, visited our congregation to tell about her experiences meeting and working with the boys and girls that we support, members of the parishes we're connected to, and the leadership in the program. As a slide presentation ran in the background, she addressed the congregation. She also brought souvenir gifts to show, particularly to our boys and girls.

Her sermon is available… Continue

"Modern Family, Modern Church": ThisWeeksSermon October 18th

“…Dylan needs no apology.
What Dylan says is this:
“This is so beautiful, he says, because in this family, DeDe is trying to reach out and hang on to something awesome.
We don’t talk to each other in my family.”
What Dylan sees in Haley, his new girlfriend, is what he calls “a killer confidence.”
“It’s the kin

"Rich beyond all dreams"—The 19th Sunday After Pentecost, Oct. 11

"Floating at the center of the Universe?
Experiencing the realm of God?
I don’t know.
But being in The Light was like coming home.
Being in The Light was like finding my Self, and finding my Self rich beyond all dreams.
Nothing else mattered.”… Continue

“If those two thoughts hold any truth, then you can say that our animal companions already know heaven, for it’s where they live now, already living in the pure presence of the moment, in the pure presence of God.”
